before-afterGrants may be awarded while funding is available to assist low income, owner occupied homeowners within the City of Schenectady for a variety of repairs. Liens will be placed on homeowners property for the amount of any awarded grants for a period determine by each specific grant. Each grant has its own qualifications such as homeowners must be current on their mortgage, homeowners insurance and property taxes to name a few. Other guidelines/restrictions apply to each grant and will be discussed during an Informational.

RESTORE (Residential Emergency Service To Offer Repairs to the Elderly-(aged 60 and older).
Maximum grant up to $10,000 per household. Limited funding available.

ACCESS TO HOME FOR MEDICAID  – This grant provides financial assistance to property owners to make dwelling units accessible for low- and moderate-income persons receiving Medicaid and living with a disability. Maximum grant is up to $25,000, per unit.

Rehab Assistance Program (RAP)- This grant provides financial assistance to low-moderate income homeowners in one-two family homes. This grant address all code violations as well as health and safety issues.
